Hello All, Can anyone help identify/date these old leg irons I've recently acquired? They look of German/Clejuso Origin and there is no key or marking on them. Also can anyone tell me how to go about getting a key for these? Thanks

German made.

Appear to be wartime vintage.

What identifies these as Clejusos? Darbies all look pretty generic to me.

No "bird's feet" puch marks on the top of the lock plug caps, the style of chain, (far less thick), the lack of a swivel in between the chain, and a number of less obvious signs.

And of course, the internal thread of the locking bolt will be a much finer pitch as well.

If they date back to the early WW2 days, they could of course be Kayser.

Also a German company.

Hi!

The shape is typically for Clejuso. Yes, Steve is right! These irons are definitaly made by Clejuso.

Hi everyone,

interesting. I also think that the leg irons are certainly made by Clemen & Jung of Solingen, Germany (Clejuso brand).

But strange IMHO is the shape of the lock tubes. Please have a look at the picture below. It shows two Celjuso Darby leg irons from my collection. The top model is the older one - it has cylindrical lock tubes while the newer one on the bottom picture has more cone shaped lock tubes.

So - although ColdSteelCuffs' Clejuso leg irons look quite old - I think that they were made after WWII. It seems that they have never been plated, which might have caused the faster "aging".

Thank you to everyone who has replied or helped in anyway. I wish I were a Locksmith.. LOL I am weighing my options if I should get a key or just sell the items for which I've had a few inquiries.

I believe if I get a key they will open without much of a problem since there is movement in the locking tubes down then back up on both sides; although they are locked/ratched down as far as they can lock.

I was wondering if these er, Old Locks would be worth a $130.00 Or (OBO) Best Offer? to ANYONE Shipped in the USA or Via GLOBAL (Where ever the US Postal Service Delivers) Priority Mail? Anyone Interested please let me know. Thanks
