Michael,

In a previous posting here by you you showed a Berliner cuff and "implied" it too was going up for sale on ebay.

It never did.

Nor did you reply to me when I emailed you and asked what you wanted for it.

Now, you show a number of other items and yet the only items on ebay you have so far listed are the 3 ball and chain restraints.

What gives?

Obviously some kind of "new" marketing ploy/gimmick to get people to go and look at your auctions in the belief that really rare items will be among the lots offered when if fact they are not and are only put here to trick people into looking at your auction lots of more common items?

Sure looks that way.

We were e mailing each other about them before you even posted a pic here.

In fact, I had asked you for a pic to be e mailed to me before they even went up here.

Of course, I never got it.

I also asked you what you wanted for them (no reply from you).

And suddenly they are now sold without ever making it to ebay or without my ever getting that pic I asked for or even a reply.

I just bought Michael's Woods Chain Cuff. It was the patent applied for model, quite different than the normal version. The chain has a bit of rust, but overall it is in quite good shape. I am quite pleased.

Michael is one of the few collectors who has gone out of his way to locate exceptionally rare items. I personally would not pay over the odds for items simply because Houdini was supposed to collect them. Far too many misunderstandings here especially when items come to auction that 'belonged' to Houdini and we know they were not manufactured until 1930.
$20,000 for a set of Guiteau cuffs is a very fair price, I do consider $50,000,000 crazy for an old painting but would still not critise the buyer.
The items I have got from Michael over the years have all been exactly as described and I have always found him helpful and a true gentleman.
So Dr Evil why don't you get out and search your local flee markets find a few Guiteau, Elias Rickard and Berliner cuffs, sell them at the going price and retire.

Dear A-hole, take a look at the prices that these cuffs fetched and keep telling yourself that a pair of rusted Guiteau cuffs with no key is worth more than $20,000.00 or a pair of rusted E.R. cuffs with an "original key-?" (which means it's an aftermarket key but Michael wants to play dumb) is worth $5,000.00. Aparently we don't see eye to eye on this value thing. So, when I stumble accross some extremely rare cuffs and knab them for peanuts, I will happily sell to you for the unheard of prices you seem to think are "fair". Then I can finance my evil plans, take over the world, have all of you incelent collectors liquidated, and take all of your collections for my own!!!!
