I just won the cuffs and have not received them yet. They have the flat rivet that someone has started a new thread on. When I get them how can I tell which key I need?

Hi, do you know how to pick the lock?? if you do, once picked ( halfway between dealock and latch) the tumbler (pins) with either be up or down. draw a picture and of what you have using the index pin as the reference ( start point) and drop me a line. I will cut a key to that combination.

....OR just simply tell Ian if there is a letter (R,S,D, etc.) at the start of the serial number on the cuff (or anywhere on the cuff, for that matter).
If there is no letter, odds are that you have the standard "N" key combination.

Thus why I didn't bid on them. A quick look at Ian McColls site told me that although he sold picks for them, there were 16 possible combinations for the keys and I wasnt going to buy them without the key and try and get one afterward. Any other handcuff...sure. Not thye 94's. Although I've picked plenty of standard handcuffs I would not know where to begin with 94's and since most of my cuffs actually go on wrists I didn't want to have to rtry and pick them open every time I used em.Besides which Discount Handcuff regularly lists them on ebay ( with keys) for around ~$90 or so.

Edri ( who's waiting on the post to deliver his hiatt Hinged and Peerless 301 I picked up for $24 for both pair.Interestingly enough the seller said to email for a picture, and had NOTHING in the decription to say these were hinged cuffs which would explain why I think I got em so cheap.

I have an opportunity to buy a set of 94's without the key, third series. I looked on cannongreatescapes.com and the keys listed . These have what appear to be the letter A on the bow, not the (“N” is most common. Also carry: D, E, G, H, L, M, R, S listed. Does anyone know if the keys are available for these? And their value? ( hint: Dont look on ebay, I didn't find these there)

The letter "A" stamped on the bow has no relationship to the cuff's lock and/or key combination. Many of the #94 models have that "A" stamp. I have never heard why it was put there. If that's the only "letter" on your cuff...then you have the standard "N" key lock.

The letter A stamped on the bow shows exactly which key opens the lock. I have a pair stamped A and got 2 brand new keys right from Smith and Wesson a few years ago. I would try there first. The key for the letter A cuffs is stamped with a letter N on it. They were around $10 a key. FYI
