Noticed that. Pretty grainy pictures though.And the cuffs look in rough shape, one the caliper hinge rivet part is missing and has been welded, how well I can't say because of the pictures. The others appear to have been chopped up for bondage purposes. And a rusty set (which as I can tell you from experience, rusty 94's JAM, especially when they are on your wrists<G>

On the other hand I also noticed a near perfect set with original pachaging, series 3 94's in another auction. I'm thinkig about those if they dont get too expensive.Which they invariably do.

Yea what you say about the poor condition of these cuffs is true but look how much someone paid: $210.00, Thats alot of mola. You suppose we will see those cuffs again in about 3 months when the guy who bought fixes them all up, and puts them up for resale?

I suppose it's a possibility, but i think it unlikely. Fixing those cuffs doesn't make sense. first you'd have to take a torch to them and undo the brass weld on the hinge. Then find an apprropriate cap to replace the missing one and re-weld the chain. None of this is easy and and requires parts not readily available (unless you are smith and wesson) . I think they are going to be used for bondage purposes, as collectors cuffs they will likely always be damaged goods and 94's just arent that rare ( despite the recent run in prices which seems more a function of demand than anything else).
I always wondered why S&W didnt re-introduce the 94's. IT's my belief that the fountain pen vulnerability was fixed in the later model, which was the major strike against it, and the demand in the last couple years for these cuffs has risen dramatically making it marketable, though wheather the recent collector interest is enough to get S&W to do a model run is questionable.

Could someone provide the ebay number so I can find which pair you are talking about? I am a bit confused about the pin and brass weld and all. Version 1 & 2 are pressed rivets that can be pulled apart if one has the tools. Version 3 is flatened rivet and ground flush. Also the individual cuffs can be removed from the chain by knocking out the center of the lock on the back side. Remove the lock cylinder and push the inner lock case to the rear and it comes apart.

Edri, to my knowledge, they never fixed that problem about using a fountain pen. However, instead of using the pin combinations arrangement they used, which is basically a binary code of sorts. They could add a 3 pin of a different height and grove the pin to make it harder to open. Another option is to go to a minature version of a Medeco lock or some other lock that would fit in the limited space.

Thanks for the ebay number and now better understand it. It's like 3 sets of cuffs and you have all 1st & 3rd versions. Apparently not in the best shape for wear and tear. Apparently these saw some serious service...
