Hi Joe,

This message deals with a new high security device I have created that when used with regulation handcuffs renders the cuffs key and pick proof REGARDLESS of the cuffs and how weak they may be.

Attached are pics of a new invention of mine we just whipped up today in our metal work shop.

The fingers of each hand are slid into square steel tubes welded together to make a half "mitt".

Two rigid metal flanges come down on either side of the mitt preventing the hand from flexing in any direction.

Any pair of handcuffs effectively "locks" the mitts to the wrists and prevents them from being pulled off.

Now the fingers are useless and keys as well as picks are of no help at all.

This original restraint of mine will be featured in a very extreme and dangerous escape we are filming this Sunday evening for inclusion on my soon to be released DVD titled, "Too Deadly for Prime Time! Vol. #1"

Half the fun is thinking up this twisted stuff and the other half is trying to figure out how to go about beating the device I have just created.

Wow, now that I just wrote the above, I seem to remember this sort of approach sounds very similiar to the way one Victor Frankenstein went about things.

If memory serves, the end result of his experimentation did not work out too well for poor Victor.

Hey Steve, try locking one set of hinge cuffs on each hand (keyway to keyway) and chain the arms in a spread-eagle fashion. Now there is a challenge!!!!!

Well, for all intents and purposes, the Mac Mitts ARE pretty crude in full function.

Anything that encases the entire hand certainly cannot be relying on it's sophisticated lock mechanism to keep people in place.

On the other hand, (pardon the pun), my "half mitts" or "finger immobilizers" were made to look crude and evil on purpose and they lock with a set of stadard handcuffs.

Something the Mac Mitts DON'T do.

I am happy to say the Mac Mitts were not an inspiration for these.

In my line of work, and the way I do things, crude and sinister looking is MUCH better in the minds of my audience over smooth, polished, or factory mass-produced looking.

They way I present my escapes is like this: if it looks savage, primitive, and brutal,it probably is.

Anything to keep your hands in front, hey Santini?

All the stupid gimmicks in the world can't save you from yourself. One pair of legit cuffs fastened behind your back is all that's required to keep your fat butt in check.

Back when I worked in the psych ward, patients with finger control issues were restrained with these Posey mitts.

These are much more humane than common thumbcuffs or steel globes:

LOL! It's kind of like a Blue Box for the fingers.

I've been playing with the idea of building a similar set using thick leather. Yes, Humane Restraints build something like this, but they are about $300 a set. And the materials for mine should be under $40, hopefully.

Greetings, Mike!

That was my favorite scene in the entire film. I remember thinking that with a strong spring the jaws would keep tightening until they bit into bone - ouch!

I'd love to have something like that on my coffee table for my guests to fidget with.

If you can sew leather, a pair of mittens should be pretty easy. 12 or 16 oz harness leather for the palm, any old thing for the back, and a couple of buckles and D rings.

You can probably but a set from a bondage retailer, in the $50 - $80 range.

The thick leather mitts are an interesting restraint, they do a good job of keeping your hands isolated.

There was also a movie called "The New Guy" where they take this school kid and transfer him to a new school and give him a ride in a police van to make him look like a tough guy. They've got some kind of leather mitts on him and it was some common item if I remember right. If I remember right they were hand pads to practice martial arts or boxing. They were probably modified with a leather strap or something but they held the fingers apart and made a very convincing restraint.

Been a long time since I've seen the movie but I remember that singer Henry Rollins was the warden of the prison if somebody wants to imdb it.
