Guenter, I don't want to stir this one up except I wanted speak up for myself and, I think, most others on this site.

I feel really badly about some American treating you that way, especially for such a dumb reason.

You know all of us guys and gals here, I don't think any of us feel that way, or would act that way. Jerks are everywhere and speak all languages.

But we here are your friends, besides, you won't find more than one out of ten of us that aren't part German, even me the Irish kid.

Those kind of people don't represent America or Americans and they don't deserve one second of your valuable time worrying about such stupidity.

Hi Brad and Stan,

thank you very much for your kind words.

I do not really worry about such persons. As Brad said, stupidity does not stop at a country's border and so you can find such "strange behaving" persons everywhere - from the far East to the far West. I consider myself cosmopolitan and I am very happy to have friends and fellow collectors all over the world.

PS: I have been to the States six times so far and I always made good experiences when telling Americans that I am from Germany, because it seems that almost every US citizen either has relatives here in my country or has been here for vacation (mostly at Munich's Oktoberfest) or when serving at the army (e.g. at Heidelberg or Ramstein).
