BlueLine Handcuffs - Who made them?

Hi all - a new posting for me on this forum, but many of you are old friends through correspondence or sales on eBay.

I just purchased a set of 'BlueLine' handcuffs from a seller on eBay. When they arrived, the box said 'Blue Line" but the cuffs were standard S&W 100's.

Other web information says Blue Line cuffs are a Chinese knock off or private label of Hiatt's.

I'll be contacting the seller to remedy this purchase, but would like some background to be sure I'm not completely off base. Is 'Blue Line' actually a manufacturer - and if so, do their cuffs have their name on them?

I don't know if Blue Line is an actual manufacturer or if the cuffs are made for them. My Blue Line cuffs are a few years old and are very good quality, and the cuffs are marked "Blue Line" and "China".

After I contacted the seller about this discrepancy, he volunteered a correct pair of Blue Line cuffs at no charge.

Makes for a very positive eBay experience - as opposed to that other kind...

You actually made out better the way it is. The S&W cuffs are a higher quality cuff than the Blue Line models. As Stan pointed out, the Blue Line is made in China and is nicely made but is not quite up to par as the cuff you received.
If you bought them as a collectible, then you will want your seller to correct the discrepancy, otherwise you are ahead of the game with this pair.

I agree that the Smith & Wesson's are a better quality item. We have multiple pairs of various styles and models of S&W's - the Blue Line cuffs were a new and unique (for us) addition to the collection.

My cuffs do actually say blue line on one cuff and model 500 on other. Curious hiw much you paid for cuffs? How much they worth? I want to sell mine.

I noticed that my Bluelines are bigger than a standard cuff. Pictured here next to a set of Winchesters. They are a chinese made cuff, but They are better made than most of their other cuffs. Heavier and feel more solid. Mine are also marked "China, Blueline and Model 500." Not a bad cuff, overall, in my opinion. The edges arent very rounded tho. Not as comfortable as a Smith & Wesson 100. Not sure if i would use them for much more than collecting tho. I added both, the hinged and the standard to my collection years ago.
