Hiatt is the old British Handcuff manufacturer. Hiatt-Thompson is in the US near Chicago and started out being an importer of Hiatt products, and brought leg iron parts into the US and made them into Leg irons when it became illegal for Hiatt to export them to the US. Hiatt-Thompson now also makes their own cuffs, and I don't know the current contractual relationship between the 2 companies. I just got some cuffs today marked "H-Thompson USA", and they are made here (USA).

Joe Tanner, yes I have some more dumb questions. How many pairs of Ian McColl plug eight repro cuffs do you have to sell as "original re-plated cuffs" to be considered a crook? Any more dumb answers?

Hi Anon (if that's your real name) I was just thinking about those plug eight cuffs only days ago. I had them made by a blacksmith some 18 odd years ago. They were very nice but only five were made and I have kept one. As you may be aware, all my reproduction handcuffs are sold as such by myself and I have never sold anything other that was it actually was, a reproduction. I am very aware that some of my items were sold years ago as you desribe or "origin ???"

ANNON: i have NEVER sold any ---- original re-plated cuffs ----except several cuffs that MARIO MANZINI had REPLATED.....but if you want some, i am sure that i could get a few of the INDIAN ones for you as i know that you are to stupid to know the difference..... GROW UP.....& maybe someday YOU will be somebody...enough said by me...joe
