I know where pair of old handcuffs are that look identical to the Towner detective models in this gallery only they have visible notches on the outside of the jaw like the copies listed yet the chain looks like the actual tower cuffs. There were absolutely no markings whatsoever that I could find.
Anyone know if these were probably the tower cuffs only with different teeth and also what is the approximate value?

#2There are many different variations of the copies of the Tower Detective cuffs. If notchs are on the outsid of the bow, they are a copy. Better copies had a better linkage similar to a real Tower. The various copies were sold for many decades in novelty shops and catalogs. One could make an interesting collection by just putting together the different variations.
Value is never easy to assess on such things, particularly without a picture. With key in good condition one might pay $75 to $100 for them.

Thanks a lot. The person wanted $150.00 and the notches were definately on the outside. Other then that they looked identical and well made but probably too high.
Saved me on that one.
