I know this forum is for restraint collectors and historians but I also know there are quite a few escapology fans here.

So... hopefully Joe will allow this post.

Hi all,

My new EXTREME life and limb risking DVD titled, "Too Deadly for Primetime! Vol 1" is complete and ready for shipping.

On this DVD you will see me attempt 5 of the most dangerous and demented escapes ever conjured up in anyone's worst nightmares.

These 5 LETHAL escapes involve burning to death by fire, explosives on a countdown aimed directly at my eyes, being impaled by 14 razor sharp steel spikes, suffering slow strangulation, and risking death by suffocation while manacled with Medieval torture instruments.

This is NOT David Blaine or Criss Angel watered down or simulated "illusions" designed to look dangerous.

No B.S. at all.

In fact, each and every escape attempt was VERY real and is performed in full view of the camera and assembled spectators with NO special camera effects.

If you think "Jackass" is hardcore you have not seen anything yet!

"Too Deadly for Primetime! Vol 1" features far worse devices and possible fates than any in such fictional movies as "SAW" or "Hostel" could ever offer and it was all filmed as it really happened with no second takes and no second chances.

Every escape provided the genuine risk of serious injury or death.

Backing the footage are original tunes by the Swedish metal legends SERPENT.

Hardcore tunes for hardcore torture and danger.

Blaine's last stunt/escape wasn't an "illusion" or "designed to just look dangerous". Camping out under water for 177 hours, followed by holding his breath under water for 7+ minutes while handcuffed and laden w/ 150 pounds of chain caused some major skin, liver and kidney damage and probably spent a few brain cells (as well as battered his ego). I'm no DB fan, but what he did was dangerous. It put his life on the brink and caused some permanent organ damage. There's nothing wrong with promoting yourself, Steve, but, c'mon.

I am not going to "tip" nor expose how Blaine held his breath for as long as he did after his air hose was removed.

Many know how it was done and that is that.

What I will say is that to stay in a tank sucking in air through a hose for a number of days before your air tube is pulled away is no feat of "magic", nor is it one of "escapology".

No doubt there are many who will jump on what I have posted previopusly and even just now but perhaps it would be best to get my DVD and watch it before you comment.

BTW, high kudos to Blaine and Angel for the incredible amount of media attention they have been able to reap with thier recent "stunts."

Well, then, by your own definition, nor are you a magician. You are an illusionist as well - and NOTHING is wrong with that, BTW.

So what if insiders know how he did it? Ian (and some others) knows a few of your tricks and, yet, you're defiantly proud as a gamecock about your accomplishments. Aside from the hypocrisy, nothing at all is wrong with that. And, still, you maintain that his "stunt" wasn't dangerous. Surely, you are an escapologist with words.

You don't need to put others down in order to lift yourself up, Steve. You have been at this too long (and should know better). Professional jealousy is unbecoming and can be career-limiting. Just a thought.

I am not jealous in the least.

If you read my last message, you will see where I offer high kudos to both Blaine and Angel.

And now I will try and make something perfectly clear:

I am not a magician doing escapes.

In fact, my style of performing is to do away with all of the usual "tricks" and "illusions" commonly associated with escapes for the past 100 years.

This is obvious on my new DVD.

I am not hiding behind screens when I escape, I am not buying my props from magic stores or escape illusion suppliers, and I am not using fancy camera edits to cover things that should not be seen.

That is the difference.

But of course, you will never know that until you see the new DVD will you?

Once again, try and reserve your comments until said time.

Wow Drago, I had no idea Ian knows how some of Santini's escapes are done! Makes one wonder about Ian's professional integrity!!! I could not agree more with the Darkmaster. How about waiting until you actually view the DVD in question, before trying to cut it down!!!

Hello,

For the sake of all on here, please let's tone this down and keep it civil.

I meant no harm by posting about the DVD and intend no harm to come to anyone from properly describing it.

My description of it's contents is accurate and truthfull.

Interested parties are welcome to buy one and those not interested are welcome to ignore it's existance.

Simple like that.

Well, Rocky and co., if you read what I wrote, I wasn't putting Steve's DVD down - nor his abilities. It was about Steve's comments regarding Blaine's "stunts" and I spoke of one in particular.

FWIW, I think Ian said so himself in a thread a while back that he knew how Steve escaped from a certain pair of handcuffs that were made by a man who challenged Steve to escape from them. This doesn't reflect negatively on anyone. It's strictly shared knowledge between Ian and Steve. And, I have all respect for Ian, so don't stretch this, please.

Also, FWIW, Steve, I have no problem with you promoting your DVD's here - or anything related to your career as an escapologist whatsoever. I think this is a good place to do it.

I, too, think that Blaine, on certain (most) occasions, is more hype than substance, but, whether he succeeded or not, he put himself in a seriously dangerous position with his last "stunt" and has the damage to prove it. Oddly, no one has refuted or addressed this - which was the crux of my point. So, the point is now moot.

Yes, by and large, Blaine is not an escapologist - certainly not one who can outdo you in that field, Steve - but...well, we've already had this conversation.

P.S. Steve, I'm sorry your DVD thread turned into this. I just wanted to challenge a single statement you made in your buildup and arrows come from all directions. Such is life. Good luck with your DVD.

For the love of Pete, PLEASE let's not turn this into "Santini is better than", or who is the "greatest" or most talked about on the scene, etc.

Such comments are only sure to spark more debate and the arguments and flaming that always and for no good reason always seem to follow practically any post I make anywhere.

Perhaps some people plan it that way and even hope for that eventual outcome.

Be that true or not, let's not let it come to that this time please.

While it is nice to be appreciated, and nice to be mentioned and have one's name out there, I do not claim to be anything more than an E.A. who is performing different and original escapes in a unique style not before presented.

And it goes without saying that my style and my way of presenting my escapes may be for some and not for others.

My new DVD is merely a showcase for my own individual way of doing things.

So far, preview screenings for random members of the intended age group target audience of "lay persons" have met with great reviews.

Of course many E.A.'s may have something else to say about the DVD and it's contents but I fully expect that and I did not produce it for the E.A. community exclusively.

Hello All

In reference to the post by the dark master (?), NO you should not be using this site as a advertisment ...But what else is new ?

Secondly to all that may be reading this , I am the man that Accepted the Dark masters (?) Challenge a number of years ago & DEFEATED him ! as can be read in the Norman Bigelow book ' Challenges'

this Challenge can again be verified by Master locksmith Ian McColl

an added note the Billing 'Extreme Escape Artist ' has to date been used by 2 escape artist to my knowledge for the past few years.

One being myself & the second is Robert Gallop....Funny how the (Dm) has to once again had to 'piggyback' on the shoulders to those that create & attempt to be original....Hmm

But what else is new ?
