Can you tell me the size of the Hiatt belt? The one I have is quite small, designed to fit a rather skinny person. My was made during WWII as can be seen in a print on the inside of the belt. I think your is likely from the 1940s or perhaps the 1950s.

And I have question on your leg irons. You don't have a key for sale with them, but have you tried them with a key? How strong are the springs? I have a Hiatt leg iron like yours with springs so strong they are almost impossible to open. (I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.)

The length of the leather belt is 120 centimeters so it will fit average people I guess. I have tried the keys I have in my collection for the leg to handcuff combination. Unfortunately I could not find one which fits in the lock.

I bought Field and Sons Leg Irons without keys, and none of my Hiatt keys would fit. I made careful measurements of the bolt's screw pitch and diameter. Ian McColl made two perfect keys, based on my measurements alone.

The auctions are not going very well. Still no bids after more than 3 days. I have no clue what the reason could be as these are very collectable items. Maybe it's because these items are located in the Netherlands? I'm thinking of ending the auctions and keep the cuffs to myself if I have no bids in the next few hours

I wouldn't lose hope about the auction until the Fat Lady has sung. If your minimum price is something you can live with, you have nothing to lose by letting the auction run out.

Many bidders, myself included, snipe auctions. I use a service called EZ Sniper. I just enter the irem number and the amount I am willing to bid, and forget about it. EZ Sniper puts in the bid when it calculates it's too late for a counter bid to be made. I get an e-mail telling me whether I've won or lost. This keeps me from peeing my money away in bidding wars, and doesn't give anyone else a clue about what I'm doing.

It works for me. Your mileage may vary. But if you pull the plug early, you'll miss any sniper bids. It also makes me question the honesty of the seller, and makes me less likely to bid on their future offerings.
