When my father passed away I inherited a pair of very lightweight S&W handcuffs. They seem to be aluminum. They bear a serial number (596613).

Can anyone tell me the history of these cuffs? Their value? Are they safe for duty use?

I am by no means an expert as I've only been collecting a short time, but they are probably from the 70's, and I believe they are model 925 or 926. Worth whatever someone is will to pay for them Realistically, about $50-$60. They MAY be safe for duty use, however they were never tested or NIJ approved.

Hi Dominic,

nowadays a S&W M-925 or 926 usually rather sells for between US$ 150 and 200 at eBay, if the cuffs are in good condition and fully functional.

dream on guys as probably 4 of the last 6 sets of S&W AIRWEIGHTS sold on ebay went for well over $250+. & up to $350.+... i believe at least 1 set went for over $450. just not long ago. ON a buy it now from the seller FETTERSSURVIVOR of ENGLAND.... JOE

Too bad the Seller didn't Mention Handcuffs In the Item TITLE. That would have attracted More Buyers & had more searchability as Ebay puts it!!

the five S&W M-925 Cuffsland sold at eBay.com last year all sold for about US$ 200.00 (+/-30). But maybe that was because we are from Old Europe .
