are these a rare version 2010c or prototype?

Im am terrible at computers. i tried photobucket to download an image. hope it works. Anyways i just picked up these Hiatt 2010c cuffs and they look different from any other hiatt 2010c or 2050c ive seen yet. I got them from Chuck Thompson and his wife Dawn when i went to pick my order up. I cant believe they let me in there and i cant believe i scored these. Anyone know if these are a rare prototype. Chuck said they were the only pair they had. I wasnt sure if it was the only pair he had left or only pair he ever had. They are heavy duty. They have 3 rivets holding security insert in place and the plug installed is twice the length of the normal c models. Also weight is increased and jaws stops shorter then my other cuffs. There is 5 teeth that are always exposed. the other C models swing through then stop. These dont even swing through.
Anyone know for sure. Its wierd Chuck didnt mention anything about Hiatts being bought out. They had these in a file cabinet drawer. It was the only really rare thing they had. Im am surprised they sold them to me and im surprised they even let me in the door. But what really surprised me is how nice they are. Very good people. They made a customer for life. I picked up the 1010 and 1010c which are H-Thompsons cuffs inb stainless steel. Also beautiful. It was a cool experience i will never forget. I only wish they another one of these odds and ends cause i would have bought them all.

Hi Derek:
2010C was a standard cuff. Other models of the C or closed cuff were also made. Hiatt-Thompson was not bought, just Hiatts of England.

If I understand you correctly, then I would say that you DO have a Hiatt closed-end models that are unlike the ones I have in front of me.

My #2010-C and #2050-C handcuffs swing completely through, and THEN stop. You say that your cuffs don't even swing completely through before stopping (because the solid "block" in your cuffs is longer?).

My #2050-C has an 1" opening in the solid block for the bow to swing through. And my #2010-C has an 1 1/4" opening. Since, your bows aren't able to first swing completely through - then I assume that the opening size holes on your cuffs are less than mine.

My larger diameter Hiatt closed-end cuffs (#4010-C and #4050-C)...are the only ones I have - that do NOT allow the bow to completely swing through before stopping.

It DOES sound like yours are different than the common commercially-available pairs. Other than that, I have no other information about your cuffs.

My hiatt 2010c security insert has a gap of 1/8 inch at bottom and 1/8 inch at top. the security insert does actually run almost the entire length of the double bows. The security insert is held in with 3 rivets and measuring from outside the cuff and its 3 3/4.
heaviest and most heavy duty 2010c i ever seen.

Im almost positive these are indeed a prototype. I never seen any hiatt closed models like it either. you mentioned the larger diameter hiatt cuffs were made like this? do you have a pic of one so i can compare. curiosity is killing me.
I would never get rid of mine cause i bought them personally face to face from Chuck Thompson and his wife. A smile sealed the deal. They hold sentimental value on top of being rare but i cant help but wonder what they might be worth.

I only wish they had more rare stuff lying around i would have bought everything. i bought a few common off the shelf items and asked about rare cuffs. they pulled these out of a file cabinet drawer and pulled out a few darbies that were common current production darbies. Nothing was really out of ordinary. just model 104 and 115 darbies but when they pulled these out I knew right away when i seen them i had to buy these! Im glad i did. probably a rare find.
