I saw this handcuff on ebay and was prepared to bid. Overall the cuffs look to be in pretty fair shape howerver there was no mention of a key or how the cuffs might work. Then I noticed a dent in the side of the cuff case above the swingarm. I'm not familar enough to guess if that kind of impact would impair the operation of the cuff. It sure stopped me from bidding. I would think that it should not only effect the appearance but the operation of the cuff. They still went for $290. Anyone have experience with this kind of impact to a cuff case?

The dent seen does not look bad enough to impair the normal operation of the cuff.

Were it any deeper, I would imagine it may bind the bow arm when the cuff is ratcheted shut.

The lack of a key causes a big question mark for me. The cuffs may be perfect, or the insides might be a solid mess of iron oxide. Asking whether the bows move freely can be a help, but if a non swing through cuff is fully closed, the owner may not be able to answer that question. Even if the bows are free, the internal springs may be buggered.

In a case like that, ya pays yer nickel and ya takes yer chance.
