Mattatuck Leg Irons?

Did Mattatuck make leg irons? I have an unmarked pair of leg irons inherited from a friend's collection. They look just like my set of Mattatucks, down to the round shape of the chain (only the key holes are different). He had them dated 1881. I am having them keyed right now or I would include a picture. Can anyone tell me if Mattatuck made leg irons, and if so, what sort of value they may hold? I am excited about adding these to my collection regardless. They are nice. Thank you in advance.

Yes they did make leg irons and they used a round key like a clock winding key that goes over a post that is triangular in shape to work the lock.

Mattatuck Mfg. made 2 Leg irons. The Round/triangular version is marked "The Judd", and is dated Aug. 2' 04.
The other Leg iron is marked "The Mattatuck", and uses a flat key, like the flat key Maltby handcuff. It has an unusual chain. Pics of both are on my CD. A leg iron that looks and works like The Mattatuck handcuff was not made.
