Yes, I fully agree. Cuffsland and it´s stuff is absolutely serious to deal with.
I believe them like to my parents, because I know that they are a proof of 100% quality. I never had any problem or even poor good.

Is Steve a shill and a know it all, too? Well, he may be a know it all, but he's OUR know it all, so that's OK. <Grinning ducking and running verry fast> Mindless carping, while hiding behind anonymity, is easy but worthless.

Seriously, if only for a moment, The Chinese HK Super copies are a mixed bag compared to H&R's product. They made some modifications to the design. I think the key is marginally better, but I've never heard of a complaint with the H&R key.

The lock mechanism is different. The Chinese changed from a ratchet to a gear. I suspect H&Rs ratchet is stronger in theory. I'm confident it is in practice, as the Chinese cuffs aren't nearly as well made as the H&Rs.

The Chinese cuffs have sharp edges. They don't put them through a second machine operation to break the sharp edges after stamping. They're pretty harsh.

They're still a neat design.

The lack of a ditched jaw on the Chinese copies.

All someone needs to do is pry the cuff apart at the hinge and the bow will disengage from the gear thus freeing the wrist.

At least one reason why later versions of the H&R Super were more secure.

This was not possible on the later models.

Once again many thanks to our friends and customers from all over the world for their nice words and support.

Meanwhile I am convinced that "Anonymous" is no customer of us. He is either an envious competitor or someone with a very weird sense of humour. It's a pity that he misuses this great forum for his sick games!

Lets come back to the topic. I think that those Chinese H&R copies have some advantages to make them at least back up cuffs for professional use. AFAIK the Chinese police really use this model. They are massively made and because of the hidden key-hole difficult to pick - the none standard key makes picking even harder. And they can be double locked by turning the key against opening direction. But as Dennis wrote, the edges are quite sharp - the Chinese police is not very anxious about the criminals' comfort .

If it is for an actual police or Security department, I doubt they would let someone use these cuffs. I think that for North America at any rate, they are merely a novelty or collector cuff. I have a pair of these and the action is somewhat rough.
