#1new wrinkle to biding...what i have noticed is that a few people place a bid & then retract their bid...is this solely a mistake ?? i think not !! this is done mostly on higher dollar value items, but i have seen it a few times on under $500. value items too... as i have seen bid placed, retracted, then bid placed again or no bid replaced at all....this tells me that the bidder places a HIGH bid to see what the current high bid TOP bid amount is....if TOP amount is higher then what the new bidder would go, he then retracts his bid & that ends it for him....BUT, if TOP amount is less then what new bidder is willing to go new bidder still pulls his HIGH bid then rebids 1, 2, or 3 bid amounts higher then current top bid....of course hoping no one else will bid as the price is high already.....joe
