I just want to inform you that Hagge stopped selling handcuffs (all models "Deutsche Polizei") to retailers. From now on they just provide police and military with their restraints. I don't know the reason why. But everyone who is thinking about buying a Hagge, should not hesitate too long, because shops will surely run out of stock soon.

Do you have any idea what's behind all this?
In the Netherlands we were already familiar with the fact that 'Lips' handcuffs officially are not available for civillians, but there never was a problem purchasing Deutsche Polizei cuffs in Germany.

Recently, after a short period of Hagge's products have been disapeared from their website, Nordhandel sells all types of DP again, but only to German officials. It keeps getting funnier: I recently visited a militariashop in The Hague - Netherlands, where I found brandnew Deutsche Polizei type handcuffs for sale, in plain metal and black, but without any markings. These too are only available for Dutch Police/Justice officials and, unless there are no serial numbers on these cuffs, the shop owner does registrate name and servicenumber of the buyer. I wonder what is going on!

Hagge seems to create their own circle of (law enforcement related) customers,I think. By the way, have you noticed that the new(er) Hagge models do have serial numbers? All Dutch made Lips cuffs already did have serial numbers (above the keyhole - at both sides of the cuffs). Both Lips and DP do have serialnumbers at one side only now.
