eBay Gale knuckle dusters - reproductions?

Hello everyone,

There have been a number of the Gale finger cuffs on eBay recently, selling for $100+ (and yes, I just bid on and bought one) and now I'm wondering if they're vintage or reproductions. Just seems like too many of a supposedly rare item showing up all at once, and all from the same seller (maio0427).

As the story I have heard goes, there is an elderly gentleman who had bought many of the gale finger cuffs a long time ago. He would be in his 80's or 90's now and if it is the same seller, then maybe he is selling them off. All are authentic.

When this guy on ebay listed his second set I emailed him asking him if it was a relisting since he was using the same pictures. He said he had several was using the same picture (until the latest posting which has more rust). I do not know how many more he has but the rust factor seems to be increasing. And yes, these are real and not a repo.

the elderly persons name is LARRY WEEKS of N.Y - N.Y....... he SUPPOSEDLY had a large collection of restraints, but i asked for photos many many times & never received a single photo..... he well indeed may have (like myself) had a large collection, but if so i believe he sold it off MANY MANY years ago.... i have always suspected the HE had the GALE FINGER CUFF-KNUCKLE DUSTER made as over the last 27 years i have gotten over 35 of them from HIM & basically ONLY HIM with the exception of acquiring 1 or 2 in collections that i purchased...... in fact he owes me 4 of them as several years ago, i sent hime $$$ to buy 4 but he has shafted me.... i have sent him several letters & phones him several times & he always had some excuse... last phone call to him, his number had been disconnected, but he WAS & still is very much alive last i heard a year ago.... joe

Yes, Larry Weeks is alive and well. He was just at the
Houdini seance in NY. He does indeed have the remaining
Gale Finger Cuffs. I got one from him through a friend. Although the current ones on ebay may have once come from him it is not him selling them now.
