American Handcuff Co. Prototypes

Hi.

About two years ago, Discount Handcuff Co. bought out the remaining stock of American Handcuff Company when they were bought out by the Armament Systems Procedure Co. (ASP)

DHC sold many prototype models on eBay and I was fortunate enough to acquire one of them. I am thinking of doing an article for the 2008 annual on the history of AHC and want to feature pictures of the prototypes. Did any of you buy some of these prototype models? Do you have any unusual or noteworthy cuffs from AHC? If so, I hope you will share your treasure for the betterment of cuff collectors worldwide. You will receive ownership and photo credits or your cuff can be presented anonymously if you desire.

I have plenty of time to do my research for this article, but I hope to see what direction it will go based upon any help that I can get from the lucky winners from the past auctions. Any other suggestion is welcome.

I have a AHC display cuff. It is a standard cuff with one sideplate replaced with acrylic, and all mounted on a base.

I'll try to get some decent pix over the weekend. Where should I send them to?

I have an early chain handcuff with the "American Muntions Co."-Fond du Lac, Wis" stamping (prior to becoming "American Handcuff Co.")

I also have an early nickel handcuff that has a single long-chain black cuff attached.

I'll check on other items, once I return home.

Hi Joe, I too have the AMC cuffs from Fond du Lac, mine came with 2 keys that I will call mini-keys, as they are smaller than the usual AHC heys. Was the AMC cuff made with larger keys or were the larger keys a product of AHC only?

Sorry, but I don't know.
The early AMC/AHC 'Fond du lac' models I bought were not new or in box w/ original keys. I don't believe I've ever seen their "mini keys". Perhaps you can provide a picture here or to Mark?
