Does anybody know how I can find more information on handcuffs manufactured by Smith & Wesson. The serial number is 954221. I cannot see any model num ber on the cuffs.

One side has the following:
954221
made in USA
marcus registradius
smith & wesson
Springfield Mass

the other side has the smith & wesson logo

they are oxidized-connected by 2 links of welded chain

Alternatively, you could go to Smith & Wesson's website and look at the pictures. That might help you a lot.

S&Ws are extremely common cuffs, and there are a few models out there that have been popular over the many years they have been selling them. For the collectors, there are a number of tiny variations that excite interest. They're hard to describe without pix. Standard S&W Model 100s are worth in the range of twenty five bucks new, depending on who you buy them from.

A few questions, though. I'm assuming you know how US pattern police handcuffs work, what the keys look like, etc.. How new are they? Signs of wear, rust, patina, etc.? Do they take a standard handcuff key, a double bitted key, or a tubular key like they use on vending machines? How do they double-lock? Is there a pin in the heel of the cuff, or a small slot on the face? How many notches on the ratchet?

Those may help us get in the ball park, but pix of both sides would really help.

If they have the double lock slot on the frame then they are real early M100's

If they have the Peerless style push pin double lock then they are likely Model 90's
