Hello and happy new year.

Due to a strange twist of fate Lisa and I am moving after 12 years from our 20 acre farm in Garfield.

Please note that the new address for us and Stockade locksmiths is

95 Moore Road
Nar Nar Goon 3182
Victoria, Australia

Currently the new property has no workshop but as soon as I get there on the 19th Jan 2007, a new purpose built workshop will be started. In the mean time I will try my best to continue all orders as if nothing is happening but there may be some delays in processing some orders.

I must say that I was puzzled by this unusual name as well, so I did a Google search for Nar Nar Goon and came up with Ian's name and plastic likeness of him.

Ian,

Please let John and me know if there are any "puppies" in your new residence. For those of you who are not familiar with Ian's definition of "puppies" I can tell you we are talking about spiders, big spiders, sitting in the ceiling.

Nar Nar Goon... Hmmm, maybe it's just a specie of even bigger spiders. Don't call for them!

Ian, I must say, after seeing Mark's post, that you, unlike most of us aging fellows, have become considerably more handsome. Congratulations, I am in complete envy.

Lars, I hear from Ian we are safe from any "puppies".
Although I don't believe a word of it. The disappointing
part to me is no more evening kangaroos, wallabys, and
echidnas running through the yard either. Ian, was that photo of you above from Mark taken after or before the
"red shorts" shot?? Congrats on the move, and good luck
on the new workshop! Best, John Bushey

PS--Don't put the hay so close to the acetylene torch
in the new shop. I'll feel more comfortable visiting!

The Puppies aren't so bad. My late wife had Funnelweb spiders regularly in her bathroom. They're not so big, but they make up for it in nastiness.

Don't pet the funnelwebs.

The worst part of the move is the town's name. Nar Nar Goon; What the hell is that supposed to be? I think Mark's photo says it all and might be correct. At least I didn't have to spell out 'Garfield' every time I gave my address but I will with Nar Nar Goon and locals are known as Goonies. Lucky me.

Spiders are part and parcel of Aussie life and if there aren't many there, I will bring some from Garfield. So you room will be ready Lars and John.

Hey Dennis, do you live in Australia? we haven't funnel web down south but they have to be the best spiders. Small and deadly, lots of spunk for such a small creature. Will still put one outside instead killing it.

I'm not from Oz; I'm resident in the Chicago area. But my late wife lived in the Sidney burbs for many years. One daughter and grandson are back there. I believe her neighborhood (probably her house) was the epicenter of the funnel web population.

They have the nasty habit of sinking to the bottom of the swimming pool, and not dying. They then wait until you step on them.

The name comes from one of the Aboriginal names for the Koala, Narnagoon.

Nar Nar Goon is the "Mural City".
Large murals are painted on the shops and train stations around the town. Sounds kinda charming.

Ian, I hope you can speak to the town council and have a handcuff mural painted on the police station or something. Some antique cuffs and some SAF cuffs would do the town some good!

Jack, you're the man! I feel somewhat embarassed that I didn't even know that Nar Nar Goon meant Koala. I did know that 'Oneya'
is Echidna thought.

Mark you have done your reseach. There are only about 7 stores in the township and most do have murals painted on them. They are well done and very refreshing to see.

Most people in Garfield never knew what I do and those that did thought and still think I am odd. I don't think I will be telling to many people in Nar Nar Goon either so the chance of getting a handcuff mural is slim but it would be cool.
