picking question

Hello everyone,

I've been reading the archives of this forum with great interest for the past few weeks. I'm new to collecting but have learned a lot from discussions here about the pros and cons of various models of handcuffs. I have two questions for you folks:

--of handcuffs that use a standard key, are any particularly difficult to pick or otherwise open when double locked because of their mechanism?

--are S&W 104s substantially harder than, say S&W 100s to pick or open without a key?

They should be harder as the keyway is smaller than the standard, also they have the hook at the end of the flag on the key.

I do not know just how the lock is constructed however I believe that the hook goes behind an obstruction to open the 104's, thus your tool will probably need a hook also.

Has anyone taken one apart?

It is a bit harder to pick open because of the smaller opening but the insides of the lock are identical to the 100's. And yes, the ward inside the lock does make it a bit hard also.
