I'm sure this has probably been discussed at one time or another on this forum, but I've slept since then. I know handcuffs are a rather unique to collect. Just out of curiosity, do any of the handcuff collectors out there also collect firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns, black powder, etc.) and knives? We have gun and knife shows all the time around here, which is where one will find a lot of these "very rare....authentic....Alcatraz restraints". Occasionally, I'll find handcuffs at these shows, but none aren't readily available that I can't get at a cheaper place somewhere else.

I don't collect guns, but i do collect Police badges and used to go to a lot of gun shows and come home with handcuffs. I do very few gun shows any more because I seldom find good cuffs, and if they do show up the prices are very high.

I haven't been to a gun show in recent years as there are too many of the crappy darbies being offered, as well as overpriced crap from someone who polluted the local waters before packin up and headin away.

Hey there, I collect, buy, sell, trade etc. firearms , leather goods from the past (mainly police related),handcuffs, and badges to a certain extent. My firearms collecting centers mainly around Colt pistols and revolvers and the more modern police handguns such as the H & K P7 series.
Frankly, gun shows have went so far downhill in the past 10 years I have not bothered to set up a table since about '95. My best deals always come with other dealers before the show starts and every once in awhile there will be a good bargain on handcuffs, albeit no amazing finds. usually a good, used set of Colt cuffs or new in the box S & W model 90's are about as rare as I have stumbled on. I did pick up a new in the box pair of Peerless 400's a few months ago, but the guy had a pretty good idea what he had. Knives I tend to shy away from, some of the prices people pay for a blade is incredible. I am sure they look at me paying 200 bucks for a pair odf cuffs in the same confused way though. It just isn't as fun as it used to be.

Well I don't collect guns, yes, I do own several for hunting and defense purposes. My interests in handcuffs precedes my interests guns. I was always curious about how the cuffs work and the internals of them. I have recently started a new site that shows what is inside of them and it is slowly growing with more pictures as time permits.

handcuffs are the major direction of my interest, but I also have very close relation to army, military uniforms and various other equipment. In fact old military equipment from former Czechoslovakia 1950-1989 is very interesting to me.
And knives I also find very interesting, but I want to specialise and spend money on handcuffs only, so I have got only a few knives. But e.g. Cold Steel knives are great! I have got Voyager model, half serrated and it is fantastic item.

My S&W handcuff collection started as an offshoot of my interest in S&W firearms.

I now have more cuffs than guns.
