I am of the opinion there are at least 2 people if not more at this particular version of "the game".

One of them is most certainly a moderator over on the escape section of the Penguin Magic forum.

The things he has said have clearly tipped his hand as they are things he has said in the past and in the same immature way.

Sick and sad to say, he is a Canadian.

As for the others, well I think many here know who they really are.

Joe can help confirm this via IP numbers that give an area or locale the poster is operating his computer from.

Of course the only way to stop this for good is to create a password protected forum.

That does however tend to keep the general public from posting questions and seeking info about cuffs.

And that would be a shame.

It is too bad.
I had an aggravating day at work today and though it might cheer me up to learn or contribute something nice in the forum. Instead there is this ridiculous and meaningless garbage that occupied a whole page. How stupid can this guy or group of other idiots be? They write and write, but do not make any point at all. I can see it if they had a point of view and are out in left field with it, but if this is an indication of their mental abilities, all I can do is feel sorry for them.
I hope that even their simple minds will direct them to another place and bother someone else. Maybe there is a Star Wars or CSI forum they could find and hang out there for a while.

There are a couple of things that can be done, but I don't know enough about this forum software to be able to tell if they are possible.

One would be to prohibit anonymous posting. If every post showed up with the users ID, that would provide a damper to moronic behaviour. It would also permit the Forum Owner or his Mods to lock out the perp. Personally, I like to moderate a board with a pretty light hand, but when someone goes to the lengths these weasel turds have gone, well, I terminate them and don't bat an eye.

I don't know if this forum can do these things, but other forum software can. Maybe it's time to consider migrating the board to a more user friendly venue. I'd be willing to contribute to the cost of a new forum, if this is of interest.

I just found the following on Network 54's site:

Sometimes you may encounter the occasional Internet user who enjoys spamming your forums and chat rooms with obnoxious messages and random drivel. We recommend that you use Network54's blocking feature which will deny access to the resources that you create here based on an Internet address, also know as the IP address.

When you edit messages in your forum, you will see the IP address next to the message title. It takes the form of x.x.x.x, where x is a number between 0 and 255. If you have a user that comes from an IP address of 127.216.18.30, for example, you can block that user from your resources by adding this address to the IP blocking rules, which can be found under your Account Options when you login.

Sometimes users can have a dynamic IP address - this means the IP address changes everytime the user connect to the Internet. For example, a user may come from the address 127.216.18.30 on one day, and the next day the address might be 127.216.18.154. In this case you can use a wildcard operator (which is the number 0) to block any address which uses the first three numbers. In this case you could use a blocked address of 127.216.18.0 which would block out all IP addresses starting with 127.216.18.x (x being any number from 0 to 255).

If you're still having trouble with obnoxious users, you may want to consider setting up a moderated forum by using our Access Control features.

So it appears that these forums can be moderated, to some extent, anyway. It's up to the forum owner to moderate the board, or appoint some mods.

As an alternative, the discussion functions could be hosted with another chat software. I used to own a board that used Invision software. It's relatively cheap, and not too hard to work with. The board could have multiple sections, including closed sections and public ones.
