Bean Single cuff with loop. Bean CHAIN CONNECTOR

I would like to find other Single Bean cuffs with chain in collections and discuss their use, and the use of a "Connector Chain" as found in the Lovell Arms 1896 catalog. I've had the chain sitting on a shelf for years and just figured out that it is used to connect two handcuffed people together as in a gang chain. The question is how they were used.
The first pic is the catalog picture of the connecting chain. The 2nd pic is the catalog picture of the Bean Single cuff with loop. I also have a heavier version with longer chain and different end.
Third picture is one way the cuff could be used on a railroad seat. Fourth is another way, and fifth pic is another way it could be used, but this way was very uncomfortable. The "connecting chain" is the same type and size chain as on the single cuff. The connecting chain could also be used like the chain in the last 2 pics.
Any ideas or additional info is welcome.

In your pictures of 3&4 I would not cuff someone that way necessarily. The reason being is if not tightened enough, one can slip the chain between the wrist and the cuff and loop it over the hand and pull it back through and be free. A better idea would be to use a padlock to secure the chain.

I agree it is possible to get out the way you describe, but the chain isn't really long enough to do it, and the cuff fits very tight. None of the catalogs I have show either chain in use. I am really mostly interested in the use of the connector chain. I don't think a padlock was an option when these were in use.

The connector could also be used to connect two pairs of handcuffs, each used in the normal manner.

Slip it over the one wrist on two prisoners to be transported each with a pair of handcuffs on.

Slip it on the wrists and then apply cuffs to the two prisoners.

This connector would link the left arm of one guy to right of the other.

Perhaps this thing could also be used to link from handcuffs to leg irons if the prisoner were seated in a paddy wagon.

It seems to me that it uses could be many.
