question about a Key with fat double lock post

I acquired this key awhile back when I bought a pair of S&W model 90's. This is the key that came with them. Of course I knew right away that it wasn't the right key for these cuffs. But, being able to unlock the cuffs and other than the double lock post being bigger than standard it looked no different than a standard handcuff key. I soon got to wondering if it wasn't a key meant for the Peerless M400.

Never owning a new in box pair I have to ask you guys what you think. It fits my M-400 just fine. I've included pictures. Or dose this key belong to a different set of cuffs I don't know about.

Hi Looking at the deadlocking pin of the key on the left, it would appear that it has missed the machining process to reduce it size. This happened in all machining of parts. As another example, I have had several wood screws with threads but no screw driver slot.

OK, that makes since. I even thought myself, if that may be simply the case. But the curiosity of not knowing for sure, made me start imagining greater possibilities. That happens sometimes, lack of knowledge leads to wacky explanations when the real answer is such a simple one.
