Smith wesson S&W 94, no SN#

I own three pairs of S&W model 94 handcuffs, two have SN#'s, one of them dose not. Is the no SN# pair an early cuff? How many were made this way?

Is yours the standard model that uses the "N" key ? Most of them have a serial number. Some of the other ones that use a different key, just have the letter of the key stamped where the serial number would be. For example I have one from the US Marshal's Servie that just has a "D" stamped on the back of one cuff. it also happens to be a first model cuff. For some reason there is a "B" on one movable bow and a "C" on the other. No idea what that is for.

Thanks, Stan, That's 2-0 for you now.

Mine have a D in the back of one cuff where the SN# should be also. Mine are the "older" model. The ones that where NOT left and right. And have the raised hinge on the bow, instead of the flat smooth one. They are in great shape, without key or box. And mine do not have the other letters stamped into the bow like yours do.

So Mine take the D key? And where mine used my the U.S. Marshals as well?

I don't know if the D key was used by other departments, but mine definitely came from the Marshals Service.
