i was looking over my s&w mod 90's and noticed that they lloked like they were kinda finger printed up and so on, so decided to clean them up. when i was done i couldn't believe how shiny they are, they have almost a mirror finish now and aren't nearly as dull looking. so i guess what im asking is it possible for 91's to get so dirty they look like 90's. im not sure because i only have one set and nothing else to compare them to. i'm going to try to get a picture on here. but for now i'd appreciate any info anyone can offer

I would suppose it might depend on how you cleaned them up. Polished nickel is polished nickel, factory or not. I have at least two pair of lightly used Model 90s that, having been worked over with a Dremel tool and Simichrome, could pass for almost mint 91s.

i cleaned them up with some filtz metal polish. so what your saying is mod 90's all cleaned up real nice look like 91's
