Hi,
While I was doing my research for my Chinese handcuff article in the 2007 annual
(for sale right now) I kept hearing about self tightening cuffs that were mainly used as a torture device, but could not find a picture or any other proof of its existence.
I will say for the record that it is a myth and if any actually do exist, they are prototypes or one of a kind.
As far as arrest style cuffs, I would again say that none exist as great measures are taken such as double or deadlocking to ensure the prisoner does not get wrist or nerve damage from cuffs being applied too tightly.
Law suits will surly make self-tightening cuffs a short lived item.
