The Mirror escape

For many on this forum I may be a new collector of restraints and locks.

I have been collecting restraints since 1970. I have also been interested of Harry Houdini and his life as escape artist and magician. Recently I got an email from my friend Lars Holst, a great Swedish collector, that someone was making inquieres about the Mirror cuff.
To special friends around the world I use to send personal greatings sometimes a part of my restraints collection.

Years back I fabricated an replica of the Mirror for a special lecture I held for Swedish magicians. I had the great privilige to be one of Marie Bloods friend and we used to write to each other. From her I got a lot of information on Houdini and information on the Mirror challenge. I have also investigated the Copenhagen affair where Houdini did one preformance in 1913.
Houdini left Copenhagen in a hurry when he got the tragical telegram telling him of his loved mothers death. In Houdinis dressing room some irons where found. A famous Danish magician bought them and later I bought them from him.

Welcome to the Forum Johanahlberg, it sounds as though we have been collecting for around the same period of time. Your message is very interesting and I know that there are other members here who will be equally pleased that you will be contributing to the Forum. The Mirror escape is of interest to most of us and we have members who are Houdini "specialists" - so we look forward to hearing more from you. And perhaps you have some photos to share with us, please? And those "Copenhagen irons" sound fascinating - can you please tell us more.
