1920's handcuffs??

Hello all, I can't believe I found a message board just for handcuffs.
Someone brought these handcuffs into my ebay consignment shop to sell. He said they are 1920's police handcuffs. Is there someone here that can verify this for me. I don't see any stamps or mfg marks. Thanks in advance for any help.

Also does anyone have any idea what they might be worth? Are they worth listing on Ebay? Thank you again

Hi Don. Do you know if these are actually from the 1920's? Or how I can tell? I found a pair that looked like these that said 1924 Bockin Handcuffs. I just worry about selling something not real or a replica.

Thanks everyone for the info. Having opened this consignment shop, I have been very surprised at what some things bring. Sometimes things you think will bring alot don't, and some of the things you think are worth the least amount, bring the most. I don't see that as a problem. The problem is that one side is frozen shut. That could hurt the price realized.

Nevermind, I found them. Don't think you need to put so many pictures in you auction though. I'd put a good picture of the front and back only. You might even loose bids with all those close ups. Just a suggestion.

I disagree. The more pictures, the more chance I will bid. Poor quality pictures or things I can't see and I won't bid.

Once again, as much as I hate to, I have to agree with Joe. What difference could it possibley make to you (Don) how she is paid for the consignment ? The issue should be what is the cuff worth to you, and not how she is paid.

Wow! I am happy that they are over 100 dollars. I sure am glad I found your site. The owner originally wanted me to start them at $9.99 with a $39.97 Buy it Now. I am sure he is going to be very surprised and please with this auction, I know I am. I had no idea these were so collectable. Thank you guys so very much.

Don I charge my customers a listing fee, which on this paticular auction was $2.00 because we started under $10.00 and then I take 25% of whatever it sells for. I pay the Paypal and Ebay Final Value Fees out of the 25%.

Steve, I know I show a lot of pictures. I would rather get a little less money for something and show pictures of everything, than to have someone disappointed in their item. If you buy something from me, I want you to know exactly what you are getting. So far it's worked well for me, although, I do feel bad for people who might have a slow connection.

This is one pair of handcuffs. There are over 20 pictures in that auction. That is ridiculous and not necessary. A few good pictures and a good description is all that's needed.

Steve, I know I came here for advice, and although I appreciate your opinion, putting lots of pictures in my auctions makes me feel more comfortable that I've tried to be as honest as I can. I realize that sometimes close up pictures may make an item look a little worse than it actually does, but I would much rather have my buyer get better than expected than worse than expected---even if it costs me a few dollars.
