Please be very cautious if you receive a second chance offer to buy the following pair of cuffs
OLD WESTERN ERA HANDCUFFS- NICKLE PLATED- GREAT HISTORY


I was the winning bidder for the cuffs and paypal confirms the transaction and the vendor has confirmed dispatch so I think someone is up to know good

Below is a screen grab of the potential scam email I've deleted part of the email address in case the owner of that address is not involved in any way I don't really understand what these scam people actually need to pull this kind of thing off.



The message mentions about the seller having duplicate items but goes on to say that the buyer failed to go through with the purchase. (That’s not the case) Also for those in the know would you actually contact the seller as the message suggests or would you not be taken to a page on the ebay site.


I don't know why anyone trying to scam would actually alert the winning bidder but please be careful I don't think this is right.

I get them all the time, just ignor them.....eBay won't do squat about it.

It looks like a typical "Second Chance Offer Scam." If it didn't come through your eBay message center, it's a scam. As a rule, never click any buttons on anything that comes by e-mail, and most particularly supposedly from eBay.

You can forward it, with full headers, to spoof@ebay.com. Maybe they'll do something, maybe they won't. They'll never tell you if they actually did anything.

Ebay has just confirmed that the second chance offer is a hoax so any one else receiving it be warned.

Lots of e-bay scams going on lately. I recently got an e-mail claiming to be the second request for payment and threatening to report me as a non-paying bidder (on an auction that I hadn't bid on and wasn't ended yet). The best bet here is, if it doesn't come through your ebay page message center, either forward it to spoof@e-bay.com and then delete it, or just delete it without opening it or clicking on any links within the e-mail. E-bay does attempt to have these spoof sites shut down when possible but with all the freemail sites like yahoo and hotmail it's very difficult to track down the people responsible for them.

I just got one, too, on an expensive Confederate bill. I was suspicious so wrote to the seller through regular eBay and he said he didn't send it. The offer never went through the eBay mail service.

Wonder how the crooks got my email address with all this secret bidding stuff. Guess they have a little more work to do.
