I was looking for these ....but i couldent find them.....WOW 100 that a great deal too......well i guess that i will have to keep looking for the peerless M 400s....but i dont think i will get then for 40 dollars..lol

The M-400's are showing up regularly lately on e-bay. I finally got mine last month. Can't see how I missed this latest pair though.

I know i was going after those too ...i sold you the N200s last month...i also saw you got the harley handcuffs i was lookin at ...o well cant get them all...check this cool item i got ....ebay number 180168282948 i want to put a pick of this up but it wont work.....i think its a handcuff

If you think it is a handcuff, you are wrong. It is exactly what it says it is...a lock. It is a military kit bag handle from about WWII. It is definitely not a handcuff.

The only real Harley cuffs are the ones made by American handcuff Company with the engraved or stamped logo. The junk people are putting on ebay now with the applied logo are not authorised by harley.

in the past heard people speeking of kit bag locks and alway thought they were refuring to u.s. GI's using them as in medical kit's but this one stamped GERMANY so the U.S. wouldn"t have been buying them from the enemy so what's up ?

The term "kit bag" is British, I believe, but tends to be used by anglophones as a generic term. It's what we call a duffle bag. One's kit is ones collection of uniforms and equipment, as in, "Pack up all your kit, we're moving out." The term is also used for individual items of kit.

A US duffle bag closes by threading a long staple through a series of grommets and securing it with a snaphook on the shoulder strap. European kit bags tend to use a roughly handcuff sized lock. Some lock, others only latch.

There's a lot of European milsurp on the market right now, much of it being former Warsaw Pact Stuff. There's also a lot of new stuff manufactured for the Army Navy Store trade. The old gold mines of surplus WW-II, Korean, and Vietnam war gear are largely exhausted.

ok, thanks for the clarifacation, BTW are you the dennis who wanted to try some forging of leg shackles i read about in forum archive's a few year's back & if so how's that going, i have some interesting puzzle iron's & one of them is missing a part would like to replace it just so it can be complete!

I am that Dennis, but I have not progressed much beyond that point. Too much real-world work. I have most of the basic stuff for my smithy, a forge and an anvil, but my forge is cold.

i know what u mean, my ex used to by a ferror (horseshoer) she want to school for it & thay thaught forging thay would use BORAX as in 20 mule teem BORAX as a flux if that might help heck i haven"t looked lately i don"t even know if thay sell it any more

Borax is a pretty standard flux for forge welding. the plain 20 mule team stuff is pretty popular. Boraxo hand cleaner isn't pure borax, so it isn't. I know they sell a lot of anhydrous borax for damascus knifemakers, but I'm not sure if the anhydrous part helps or just runs up the price.
