Hello everyone. I have in my collection a set of Tower doublelocks (handcuffs) with what I believe to be strange chain links. (could not match then up to anything on this site or others) Also one cuff seems not to engage DL. Would anyone advise repair? (ie, removing lock case. If so, how to remove?) I have a few decent photos I posted with photobucket. (or at least I tried to) If no pics appear with my thread, then next question becomes a download one.

Vince, a couple of thoughts.
First, if you mean the cuffs lock and unlock and engage the bow properly but one of them will double lock and the other will not. Do as the previous writer said and shoot some lubricant/rust remover in the lockcase and blow it out a few few times. Tapping the lockcase with a hammer HANDLE (not the head) or some other piece of wood sometimes shakes things loose, too. Running very hot water through it and blowing it out often does the trick very well, also.
If it still does not work I would suspect the key before I did anything else. See if you can borrow a DL key or two and try them out. The DLs can be very persnicketty about key wear.
The chain is weird. That is not DL chain. That said, it appears to be perfectly good forged chain, much like you would find on Bean leg irons, or similar to an ancient ancestor, the Phelps. Interesting anomalies appear from time to time with Tower stuff, so none of us get too shocked when something odd, like chain 40-50 years older than the cuff, shows up.
Look at the chain very carefully and see if you see any welds in addition to the forging that originally closed the links (the forging is at the pointy end of the links and is obviously two pieces of metal forced together with heat for closure.
