Twin Tower Bean Pattern

I was going through boxes of handcuffs and thought i would post these.I dont know if any one as ever see something like this.They are both tower bean pattern cuffs with keys and a big ring

I've seen other cuffs in similar arrangements, but never the Tower Bean's cuff. Most manufacturers would provide some type of transport chain.

Well, it's a gang chain. The question, and it may not be possible to resolve it, is whether it was factory made or "home made." I presume you have not found one in a catalog.

What do the chain links look like, where the transport chain is attached to the cuffs? I would guess that the transport chain links would have been cut and re-welded around the intact handcuff chains. Even if the assemblage was factory done, I bet they used off the shelf chain and rewelded it. The factory would do a really nice welding job, and might even forge weld the link, since the round links are probably forge welded. But a fine job doesn't demonstrate factory work, as a prison or a police department would have a competent maintenance shop, and probably even a smithy.

If there is no sign of rewelding, then it was probably a factory job, the chain having been inserted before the round links were forge welded shut.

These have not been rewelded the chain is as old as the cuffs i am guessing.....both cuffs work.I have no books to confrim that these were ever made from the company but...maybe when they were bought someone made them like this ???? the cuffs are 36inches apart and so is the big ring to the fist pair....
