SPF

Hi,

I recently acquired a similar cuff that was also marked SPF.
I am sure that I read a discussion here about the meaning of the letters and it was concluded to mean Singapore Police Force. I looked all over for this thread and neither Stan or Joe could find it as well.
I am trying to confirm this as true and hope whoever it was that posted this info could shed more light on this.

I don't have any written evidence that it is true, but about four years ago I bought a pair off eBay from Singapore and the dealer there said the were from the Singapore Police Force. And a search of the web shows that the do use the SPF designation.

mark i typed in spf & hit search & match and came up with 4 threads date's are 9/2/04, 8/8/07, & two from 12/10/07 hope they are the one's

I have an R.C.S. adjustable darby dated 1952 and marked SPF with serial number 1053. This would fit in with the hiatt cuff and help date it.

Thanks everybody for you research and knowledge. I am glad you were able to find the old threads too.
There seems to be enough public opinion that SPF are indeed the initials for the Singapore Police Force.
I will file my cuffs under that heading. (I wont file them too hard, otherwise I might remove all their plating)
I will also go along with their manufacturing beginning from the early 50's.
Seems the department bought from Hiatt and RCS.
