peerless model p010

i recently purchased a pair and found that they weren't as nicely made as other peerless cuffs..is this maybe because they weren't made in the u.s.?? does any one know why they weren't made in the u.s. any feel free to share your opinions about these cuffs, im interested to hear. thanks

It really surprised me that Hiatts began doing this since their product was such quality not that Peerless isn't either.

It would be interesting to know the serial number on your set of these Model p010's?

As they state, it is "intended to fit increasingly tight budgets" which is a polite way of saying it is their bottom of the line product. You get what you pay for.

A quick note about Peerless cuffs........nearly all of their cuffs and cuff conponets are made accross the pond. Don't believe me??? Call them and ask (1-800-732-3705).....I did. They will not come right out and say it.......they like to hem-haw around the issue, but it is true and when pressed, they will not deny it.

i had a problem with the double lock pin on my model 801's and the people at peerless were awesome about getting them fixed and back to me in a hurry. peerless costumer service is definatly the best!!

Mike - I don't think you can get a more reliable source than the President of Peerless himself. He couldn't be more up-front with a direct answer to your question, so now we know.

I've not yet seen the p010's, but based on what I've read here I won't be in any rush to get a pair.

Incidentally I've always found Peerless very helpful when dealing with enquiries. On one occasion they even sent me a copy of thir handwritten internal record which they couldn't decipher themselves. Unfortunately it didn't help as I couldn't read it either - but is indicates how helpful they try to be.

It's been a while since I looked at the Peerless website - but on it I see they're proudly displaying under a "NEW!" banner their new cuff. Or should I say "new economy cuff"? Not sure, cuz they do say that it's NIJ approved!

Ah well, perhaps it struggles up to the standard of the latest 700 range - which explains why I won't be rushing to purchase a pair! (See my post elsewhere on this site about my disastrous purchase of 700's).

BTW, my buddy Chris Patzer at Handcuffs Warehouse [if you don't already have the website, Google it!]is offering them for less than 20 bucks (hey all other UK members, that's less than ten quid!!), I still need to be convinced .....!

they really sound like they are made out of tin or cheap steel when they rattle together
