We will start off the year with a fairly easy question. Remember NOT to answer the question here and DO email me with it. The first winning answer will appear here with credit due to the Commander of Cuff Comprehension.
Lars has graciously donated his new Carberry Cuff to the lucky winner in this first of the year contest question. And the Question is:

When performing in theatres, Houdini would set up a board in the lobby or entry way showing all kinds of cuffs that he has escaped from. One cuff on the board was called the "Boston Cuff". We as collectors, probably have at least one in their collection but never call this cuff by that name. Please identify this famous cuff.

Wow, we had contestants from all over the world on this query.
The lucky winner is Ron Spitz (who happens to be only 3 or 4 hundred miles away).

He correctly named the cuff as the Bean Prison. The Bean Patrol, Bean Detective and Iver Johnson could also qualify but his answer came in first. The Walden Tool cuff was guessed but even though they originated in Boston, it was not the correct answer.

Congrats to Ron. Lars said that Ron will receive the cuff with its original key and holster under the following conditions. Item must be picked up in person by Friday and before 5pm. By the way, how is the weather in Sweden these days, Lars?

For the next question, we will step it up a notch in the difficulty scale.

Thanks for playing! Til next time!

Mark,
I am honored to be the winner. Lars, could you let me know the best way to get to your home. The "prize" would be worth the trip.

Mr. Lyons:

Your "Handcuff Millionaire" makes no sense, other than for personal agrandizement among a select few.

Have you gone back to smoking dope, or just having unnatural carnal relations with Steve Santini again?

Well first of all, I am going against my better judgement and am going to answer you even though you are afraid to speak your piece under your real moniker. You seem to be bold enough to have such a strong opinion but are too weak to let it be known who you are. Anonymous posts really don't warrant such a reply.
Secondly, I fear your attempt to amuse yourself as well as my response will be short lived as the moderator of this fine web-site does not tolerate such infantile babbling.
However, I believe the select few that you are referring to is in actuality the small percentage of the worlds population that has an interest in this hobby because this forum has been established for the dissemination of information and is open to all. If even one or two people can learn one scrap of information from my efforts, then I along with them will have to disagree with you that this is senseless. I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the game but people all over the world seem to enjoy it.
As far as "smoking dope" is concerned, all I can tell you is that I volunteer for two different law enforcement agencies and am subject to periodic drug testing. Sorry, wrong guy here!
Wrong again on the Santini thing! Never met the guy. He must be about 3000 or more miles away from here. Besides, we are both married with children.
I am sorry buddy, you make for a lousy contestant and am not welcome back....go try Handcuff Jeopardy or the Handcuff Gong Show to spew your trash.
As a consolation prize, I am happy to award you with a brand new edition of Encyclopedia Britannica. I hope you will educate yourself with it.
Your game show host,
Mark Lyons

P.S. I was going to give you credit for your use of the word "agrandizement" but you misspelled it. It is correctly spelled "aggrandizement".
As a parting gift, you will also receive the 2008 edition of Websters Dictionary.
Thank you for all your interest.

Hi guys,

The weather in Sweden is gray, moisty and cold.
Ron, you are welcome to my place whenever you wish.
I'm sorry but I've traded the Carberry with a beutiful Paki cuff.

Cheers, Lars

Lars,

I know a guy that can stamp any prison name on your you're new cuffs. Sorry I missed the prize. Will have to talk with Mark about this in a few week at the West Coast Lock Show.

I noteced that one reply to this thread has been removed--good.
