Rarest of All

Hi All:

This may strike some as a dumb question, but I am curious.

Of all the restraints out there, if you were only able to have one in your collection, what would be that one?

And why?

Great question Franklin! Here is my answer:

The one pair of cuffs that I would like to own would be the original, Houdini owened, Guiteau Cuffs. Why? Obvious reasons a side, I had a chance to see them in person in the 1970's when they were on display at the Houdini Museum in Niagara Falls, Canada and I was captivated by them for some reason. I also remember seeing them on Houdini's display boards in photos and couldn't take my eyes off of them. The key within a key was so intriquing to me......I just always thought that they were so cool; I always imagined Houdini escaping from them on stage in front of a capacity crowd! Funny thing is, I didn't even know of their historical significance (the fact that Charles Guiteau wore them and that he shot President Garfield) until my adult life......I just thought that they were awesome handcuffs! They have been one of my all time favorites since I was a kid and still to this day. Again, great question!!!
