Still not impressed with the prices and descriptions and providence.... Some of it may hold up to scrutiny but some of it I think will not pass the test.

"Provenance" in the world of many auction houses and even "big ones" whose names would ring a bell is sadly often only limited to explaining a chain of custody which in many cases does nothing to proving out the authenticity of any alleged historical item.

The word in many cases is used totally out of context by those doing the selling.
