Can anyone tell me about these cuffs. They are very similar to the ones pictured above, far left, 2nd picture from top. They seem to be in very good shape and work well. Both cuffs & key are maked '#81'. Any information
about history & value is greatly appreciated.

Froggatt was one of the many British handcuff companies located in Birmingham, England. The Company was founded by William Froggatt in the 1820s. The company lasted until 1936 when Thomas Froggatt sold the company to Hiatt, the leading British handcuff company.

The Froggatt company made all sorts of restraints. Their handcuffs are of high quality. The cuffs have a distinctive appearance because of the rounded bottoms on the lock tubes.

Joe is assuming that your cuffs are marked "FROGGATT", and don't just look like a picture of a Froggatt cuff. Are yours marked ?

One of my pairs of Froggatt handcuffs.

They are both marked Froggatt Hard w/ number 2.
didn't come with key but the price was right..

One of the nicest sets of cuffs in my collection.

Thanks for the responces......The Cuffs are clearly marked
and look exactly like the ones in the pic Atlanta Castings sent,
although yours look to have a nicer, shinier finish, my cuffs have a bronze looking patina......Will try to get a picture time permitting.....These cuffs have been in my family for as long as I can remember, and we're not sure they were aquired, is there any way to trace they're history? ...... Thnx again
