It seems to be a nifty come-a-long, if only used for that purpose...

...as threading the willing participant's hand through the zip-tie (and cinching it) took over 5 seconds to complete

For real world use I can't see this thing fairing too well.

Me personally, I'd like to see someone make a "TASERCUFF"

Does anyone even use come alongs any more? The cops seem to handcuff whjenever in doubt.

The side bows look awfully thin, to the point of being flimsy. They also look like they would hurt!

If you watch the film closely I think you'll see that this isn't actually intented for a come-along so much as for handcuffing someone who's resisting. It seems to be a little bulky for regular duty carry in the field but might have some institutional value. I'd hazard a guess that those countries that have banned the use of come-alongs won't apporve this for use either.

I've received several replies from the company. This is the latest one and the price is surprising. At the $ 250.00 price level they might sell 2 in the US. I can't see any police department allowing the use of the Grabber in fear of having legal problems.

In the video on YOUTUBE you saw our first prototype, right now we're finishing our final product. We're working hard to be able to supply the product in the first quarter of 2009.

Sorry, but right now I can't tell you the exact price, but I guess it will be +-$250.

As soon as we'll be ready to supply I'll be more than happy to let you know.
