this is a real question. As far as I know, the company SILE manufactured handcuffs for Italian police - they were stamped NEW POLICE, Made in Italy and on the back side SILE and a serial number. From this point of view I guess this company is Italian.

But I have got a picture of handcuffs, marked SILE New Police Handcuffs, Made in Spain.

In addition I posses a patent file fromt he early 1950s issued to Bonifacio Escheveria from Spain, the handcuffs on the pictures are identical to New Police, Made in Italy, Sile...

So under these circumstances I guess that Sile is Spanish manufacurer, those handcuffs for Italian police were possibly made by their Italian subbranch...

There is also the question, if SILE is the manufacturer...

I would say Alcyon since the cuffs have the exact shape and tooling as alot of those cuffs of that time frame that had names like ROMO, ROMO Detective, Chief of Police, Zephyr Chief, etc. The listingsays keys included but they don't show a picture of them. The original keys are stamped and formed sheet metal unlike the cast ones that the major manufactures use. The steel used is a softer steel than what Peerless, S&W, Hiatt, etc. use.
