very rare marlin ? handcuffs

Hi I am a handcuffcollector from the Netherlands and I collect most off very old English and American handcuffs. I have now in my collection about 250 diffirend pices


Maby some one can help me. I have a pair of bottleneck handcuffs and dont no wat it is. The handcuffs look like a marlin daily handcuff, but have some onusele things.

The bottle is the same as the big one from marlin daily but the little screw that block the lockingcase is not a screw but a pen and is on a other place

The chain have 5 original rings in state of 3

The cuffs dont have the marlin signation on the side of the lockingcase. in state the cuffs both are markt on the top of the lockingcase with PAT. DEC. 79

The cuffs stil have 60 % original nikkel and work fin with a replacement key from mark cannons normaliter used for the Marlin daily cuffs

Please can som one tel me are this early marlin cuffs ore early proto type ore are the cuffs produced by daily himself

A picture would help identify the handcuff better. Have you checked to see that it might be a Caveny which uses a key that screws into the lock?

Well Barry, if you would have let me win them you then wouldn't have to worry about what they are.

Best guess would be that they are maybe a prototype, to determine this you would have to post some real good pictures of them and then if you are real lucky maybe one of the experts will make a real time determination as to what you really have.

I wrote the anon response and was the runner up on the cuffs,

I just noticed that the auto fill in didn't work.

A picture would help identify the handcuff better. Have you checked to see that it might be a Caveny which uses a key that screws into the lock?

Thanks for you respons. I hope some one can tel me for sure that the cuffs are special, atleast I hope. Thanks for the pictures. I am a beginner on the PC and must learn how to fix some pictures on the Pc.

You have a first model Marlin with an unusual linkage.

The linkage may or may not be factory done but does not in a big way affect the value of the cuffs.

I am pretty sure they are not a prototype.

This patent marking also appears on other Marlin first model cuffs.

They are not a prototype is that they are not "Patent Applied For" but are marked that they are already patented.

Thanks Steve. I think you are right. De chain looks same old as the cuffs and der is no welding don. The chain looks nearly the same to the phelps cuffs
