Fake/Training Handcuffs???

Hi,

I have a set of modern-type Fury brand handcuffs. Fury is a legitimate brand, and they are operable with a standard handcuff key, and seem to be of the same sturdy construction as real handcuffs.

However, they have these little lever type nubs sticking out of the side of the cuff locking mechanism, and when you push down on them (key in or not), they release quite easily, much like a pair of toy handcuffs...

What is up with this? I got these as a gift from someone who got them from an army surplus store. Are they counterfeits of real Fury handcuffs, some type of training model, or is there something else I don't know about?

any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Furies I have, are not duty cuffs, nor would I consider them suitable for training. They do have a manual release lever. I call it a "Mommy swith."

"Mommy! Bill locked me in the handcuffs and I can't find the key."

I don't even consider them as adult novelty quality, as they are vety thin, and apt to cause injury if the subject struggles.

I refer to this general class of cuffs as "Party Cuffs." They're toys.

Well no one as put a pic up to see what kind of cuffs there talking about so i found a pair in my junkie cuff box do they look like these...not vey good quality and cheaply made.
