Hi all,

A Canadian production company has just finished producing for television a new documentary about my career in escapes.

I know this is a handcuff forum but I know some here also have an interest in escapes.

(Yes, there are numerous cuffs in the vid. LOL)

Anyway, they just posted the first 10 minutes of it to YouTube.

thanks steve for sharing, some great looking escapes. after watching this for the third time, i got to wondering if any of the escape artists ever consider using chubb escort cuffs in their acts. as far as i know, these are the hardest cuffs to pick. i have seen chris gowers picked pair, obvious from the lack of key in the lock of the opened cuff, and i beleive they were not worn by him as he picked them. i have also seen these cuffs described of "oversized padlocks", and not thought of as handcuffs at all!. is this because they are hard to escape from, so are dismissed by the escape artists community?. no disrespect intended here, you guys and gals do things i would never even consider!. good luck to you all. bob

Hi Bob,

Actually, as Amazing Michael who posts here will attest, (if he is around), I do and have used Escorts in a number of escapes.

Unfortunately not in this 10 minute trailer or in the rest of the documentary but I do use them on occasion.

They may in fact figure into one episode of a new escapology television series we currently have in development.

Bob, I was there to see Steve pick open a set of Chubb Escorts (while locked on his wrist) a few years back. Here is a photo taken just after he did it:

Steve opened the Chubbs with the use of a couple of long wire type picks that Houdini once owned.....those picks are on the table in front of Steve. The cuffs that were picked are being handed to me in the photo (notice that they are in the unlocked position and the key is on the corner of the table). These cuffs can not be left unlocked without the key inserted in them, they are key retaining locks.

Side note: I watched Steve pick open the S&W Maxx Security cuffs with the Medeco lock cylinders in them......he picked both cuffs open (single AND double locks) while they were on his wrists in about 1 minute. I was impressed and I don't impress easy when it comes to Escapes.

Hey Michael!

Happy belated New Years!

Boy, that pic sure brings back some memories.

That was a great weekend our families shared in the frozen wasteland of Niagara Falls LOL. (At least there were no mobs of tourists).

Yes, we did get the card and thank you all very much.

Steve, thanks for the 2nd segment! What is really cool, is seeing you doing the Burning Man Escape while the cuffs that you used for it are just six feet away from me in a display case!

Wow, you could really see the flames starting up through the holes in the front of the box! Great stuff, keep it coming!!!
