Since the Annual has been delayed I am printing another dozen copies of my

as well as all the research information I uncovered including the following:
2 photos of Lorey in prison, all the papers on his attempts to gain a pardon,
letters of conduct, a handwritten letter applying for a pardon, the article

Wow, it was pointed out to me that I said I was trying to obtain pieces of a
family member. CORRECTION-- I meant to say that I am attempting to work a deal with a distant relative to qcquire pieces FROM a family member. They have a box
with a pile of materials related to the Lorey patents. Sorry for the confusion.

I sat down today and read the book and all I can say is wow! The amount of material presented, the pictures and everything about the book is fantastic!

It shows the true heart, talent and validity of a researcher and man for Gordon to trust you with his cuff.... unless you guys went to the pub beforehand and Gordon got liqured up.... hummmm, or did you plan to get him liquered up to get at the cuffs? Well I digress. Well done.

I want to thank Gordon for allowing you the oppertunity to look at the cuff and share it with the world.

Thankyou Shawn but no liquor was involved. I couldn't get the cuffs open
so..John has a knack for combination locks and is a friend. An easy choice
for a go to guy. John also has a knack for getting inspired
( driven, obsessed ) on projects such as his book. Lucky me lucky us.

An interesting idea would to make a Lorey/Hamburg 8 combination cuff,
what about that? The market is already flooded by your and your
friends bad copies.

Hi all,
I have found a gentlemen who owned some of the belongings of an aquaintance
of Joseph Lorey, and in the box were "a bunch of little parts of what look
like locks or hand cuffs" according to the owner. I have purchased the
box although he stated to me that they are in poor condition, and gummed up
with some old dried greasy material. I hope I can clean the parts, and then
hope that there may be enough parts to assemble a lock or handcuff. I have mailed him photos, asking if he could count how many parts of each photo there are. From what he has told me (old guy, no ability to photograph parts, and no computer access, all by snail mail, and phone) there is at least one Lorey cuff present, although not completely assembled. Also, parts to possibly another, and also some padlock parts. So, as soon as they come, I'll post a photo after I clean them up a little. I'm excited, and looking forward to this box coming.
I'll keep everyone posted. John

HI all,
Got in the mail a box of various parts of Lorey cuffs, including one complete
set, one half cuff already done, and enough parts to perhaps build a few more.
They are not in good shape, and I spent last night cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning some more the grime and dirt off some of the items. I'll post photo
as soon as enough parts are clean enough to tell what they are (really caked
up in very old grease??? or something that hardened. PHoto should be posted
tonight, or tomorrow night. Yipee.
