Who has a Takeda Leg iron

I would like to hear from anyone who has a Takeda Leg Iron from Japan. They were on most of the magic/handcuff sellers lists in the 1960's, but seem to now be on the hard to find side. Besides mine I only know of a few in collections, including Joe Fox and Chris Gower. Stanley Smythe also showed one in his book. Like the cuff, they are nickle plated brass, and decent quality.

I have one and it matches the early Takeda handcuffs perfectly where the quality and
finish was much better.

The one in my picture is heavily plated and like new. The brass look is from reflection when the picture was taken.

The yellow color comes from photographing it under tungsten light.

I guess you can get a "filter" for photoshop to fix the color balance. I'm no PhotoShop mechanic, so I ise a simpler program and hand-crank in some blue. That helps get rid of the yellow color.

Not sure if mine is a Takeda. It's in pretty poor condition I'd say.

Thanks, but your LI is not Takeda. Takeda has star wheel and holes in the movable bow. No ratchet teeth. Don't know what yours is.

I have some Chinese Handcuffs similar to your leg iron. Body shape, keyway, poor plating over brass. Very Asian.

Hi Stan,

I do have a pair of Takeda leg irons in my collection - if I remember correctly, they do have a japanese sign engraved instead of the word "STOP" on your leg irons shown in the picture. They have a chrome finish.
