KUB quality question

I see KUB cuffs all over and would like to know if they are made cheaply or are fairly good in quality. Any opinions?

in my opinion are the cuffs of good quality
if you see most of the indian darby's is kub not so
bad but do not think it is of hiatt quality

I know how this might ruffle a few feathers here on the board but since you asked, I will give my humble opinion.

KUB products are fantastic!!! I own several of their cuffs and I have been impressed by all of them. They are heavy, they work properly (every time), they look great, they feel great, and the price is RIGHT!!! As for quality, I can say from my own experience, the KUB cuffs are far better than any other repro cuffs that I have owed. The chrome has not chipped off of any of mine, they work exceptionally well, what else can I say??? I LOVE them!

I just love them!!!

The finish is great, no problems with chipping and there are no sharp edges.

Think i must have at least 30 pairs, some of which i will be putting to good use tomorrow

Their product range is great as well with some interesting designs

Amazing Michael is right. KUB (and Victorworks) are much better than the so called "indian darbies" and they are better than the Hiatt Thompson darbies made from cast material. The adjustable darbies have a good shape, similar to the original Hiatt 115, but the shape of the non adjustable darbies shows more differences to the original Hiatt 104 or 101. Also the size of the nonadjustable darbies may be a problem: for men the woman size will be too small and the men size will be too large when a normal Hiatt 104 will fit.

I am very happy with Kub's quality. They do really make first class stuff. They're not Warranted Hard Best quality, but I'd rate them above the cast potmetal Hiatt darbies.

Victor, OTOH, has been a disappointment. Much lower quality. Poor fit and finish. Corrosion coming through the chrome. One item came disassembled, and the parts didn't fit. Their hex keys are ridiculous, hand filed rough shapes that don't resemble a hex and occasionally actually fit the locks. I'm going to be really selective about what I but from Victor. They do have a couple of unique items.

Both Kub and Victor take about four months to ship. I suspect they don't maintain any inventory, and start manufacturing stuff when they get enough orders. You pay up front with a wire transfer and wait and hope. Then be prepared for a fat customs bill. Victor shipped to the wrong city, and it cost me a hundred fifty bucks to have the stuff re-shipped. Kub shipped through FedEx air-freight and the stuff arrived at my door.

It would probably be worthwhile to set up anaccount with a customs broker in advance - something I didn't do.

Both Kub and Victor were unable to completely fill my order due to some glitch or another. It wasn't a vast problem (more like half vast). They substituted some stuff. I now have three steel animal catch-poles that I have no idea what to do with.
